Introduction

Here at Whip It Up Cake Supplies, we pride ourselves on not only providing top quality baking and party supplies, but also on sharing delicious recipes that our customers can easily recreate at home. Today, we are thrilled to unveil a delightful creation that has been stirring up quite the buzz in our community: Deb’s Fabulous Apple Cinnamon Slab Cake. And the best part? It’s a recipe born out of a customer recommendation and perfected by one of our very own talented colleagues, Debbie, who has been working with us for the past two and a half years.

Here's how you can whip up this mouth-watering treat in your own kitchen...

Starting with the main event and what you will need:

 UTILITY CAKE MIX

VANILLA SPONGE MIX

The secret of this recipe is to mix half of our utility cake mix with half of our vanilla sponge mix to create a perfect blend of soft, sweet, and delicate cake that is simply divine. Add some apple and cinnamon and you have the perfect blend of summer cake and enchanting memories.

    • Vanilla sponge mix
    • Utility cake mix
    • 4 eggs
    • 230ml water
    • 2-3 green apples
    • 1 Tsp. of ground cinnamon
    • 2 Tbsp. of maple syrup
    • 1 ½ Tsp. of vanilla bean paste

The recipe:

  1. Dry mix half of the utility mix with half of the sponge mix. Save the rest of the mixes for another cake. Retrieve the rest of your ingredients. All we are mainly going to be doing for this recipe is following the instructions on the SPONGE packet mixture, so make sure to save this bag.
  2. To prepare apples, peel and cut into half a centimetre thick slice, then add to a pan. Mix one teaspoon of ground cinnamon with two tablespoons of maple syrup and one and a half teaspoons of vanilla bean paste. Once heated and soft-ish, set aside.
  3. Make your cake mix using 4 eggs and 230mls of water, following the directions on the SPONGE packet mixture.
  4. Transfer into a lined pan and spread-out apples on top of mixture. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and finish packet cooking directions.
  5. For some extra love, dust with our non-melting snow sugar (shown on result below). This creates that beautiful layer of soft powdered sugar that makes the slab look delectable.

And there you have it! Enjoy your creation, and make sure to share the recipe with friends and family. Feel free to leave a comment or tell us about your experience on any of our social media pages. Sign up for our newsletter to get updates on our next blog post and more!
